A bit about us
Vextrix was formed in 2009 by John Williamson and Phil Marsden when the vision for the company was formed out of a desire simply to do things differently especially when it came to people. We are a team of multi-discipline construction and engineering consultants specialising in rail projects across the UK. Now, one of the leading consultancies within the rail sector we are on a growth journey that presents unlimited career opportunities, a genuine work life balance and a great place to work for all of our people where they feel valued and happy.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer with experience in the rail sector as CRE or CEM, to provide technical leadership to a growing and dynamic team with a strong forward workload across multiple projects and clients.
We’d Love To Hear From You If You Have:
- Experience of civil and structural engineering design in rail – our projects are varied and range from new bridges, station/platform and car park re-development, re-signalling schemes, level crossing upgrades and works on major programmes such as TRU
- Experience of delivering Network Rail projects ideally as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) OR Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM)
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (MICE/MIStructE)
We’re a great team with huge ambition and a passion for doing things properly, professionally without any corporate politics. It’s about the right person for us, whether you’re looking for somewhere to develop your career to Director level or looking for a better work-life balance where you are appreciated for being you, we’re happy either way.
The important stuff!! Here’s a bit about our culture that we believe makes Vextrix a great place to work
What if we can have work-life balance? What if we can be rewarded in ways that support our individual needs? What if we can be accepted for who we are? Here at Vextrix we believe we can!
We recognize that work is only one part of our lives and making time for the other things in our life is important – be that our families, our friends or ourselves. So, if working from home, working part-time or having flexible start and finish time will help then talk to us.
Be you, be happy – we strive to have a friendly and inclusive culture which respects and maximizes the contribution individuals can bring to us. We know the benefits that people with varying backgrounds and experiences can bring. Having been recognised with an award for our inclusive and diverse culture, we continue to promote the right culture to enable all of our people to reach their full potential, and to ensure we continue to promote equality, inclusivity and diversity for everyone.
No usual recruitment process
We don’t just look at your CV. We’re just as focused on who you are and the potential that you’ll bring to us which means that our recruitment process is informal, friendly and focussed on getting to know the whole you. If there are any considerations or adjustments you need during the process, no problem, let us know and we’ll make sure we do our best to accommodate.
