We are looking for a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Rail Civil Engineering design teams in either Manchester, Liverpool or London, supporting our Technical Directors and Design Managers to deliver a wide variety of rail infrastructure projects.

What’s the role?

You will be supporting our Technical Directors and Design Managers to deliver civil and structural engineering design packages. You will be working on a wide variety of rail engineering projects, where you will be responsible for leading teams to produce design packages.

You will act as a mentor to other engineers and technicians in the team, and be responsible for providing clients with high quality, technically excellent design packages. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a rapidly expanding team, including progression to Contractor’s Engineering Manager, Technical Director or Project Director roles.

What will you have?

  • Strong technical design skills in civil and/or structural engineering.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience of preparing, checking and approving design packages on Network Rail projects.
  • Experience of acting as Contractor’s Responsible Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of requirements of interfacing disciplines.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes.
