In celebrating, his first year at Vextrix, we had asked Senior Project Manager, Sam Butcher, to give us an account of his first year, “My first year at Vextrix has passed in the blink of an eyelid. There has just been so much to do!
Project work has been spread far and wide at stations across the North of England for both Northern and Transpennine Express. From the remote and wonderful Cumbrian Coast Line stations to urban Greater Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and all points in between.
I’ve been heavily involved in the roll out of station infrastructure to support smart card technology, Ticket Vending Machines, Customer Information Systems and CCTV. My duties are equally varied – from general project management, design reviews and contract administration to telecoms technical consultancy and development of design solutions.
Completing and closing out a series of legacy jobs which had been put in the too difficult pile for too long gives me a great sense of achievement.
Thanks to Phil and Anthony, both of whom I continue to work closely with, and all the Vextrix team for their help support over the past twelve months. On now to year two!”
