Vextrix achieves Accredited Level with the Fair Employment Charter in the Liverpool City Region

Back

We are thrilled to announce that Vextrix has achieved Accredited level with the Fair Employment Charter in the Liverpool City Region!

We caught up with Corrine Blake HR Director – People and Culture, to find out more about what it means and why it is such an important accreditation for Vextrix.

Can you tell us exactly what the Fair Employment Charter in the Liverpool City Region is?

The Fair Employment Charter is led by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and is about encouraging better ways of working across the region. It recognises employers who are already doing the right thing and supports others who want to improve. At its core, it’s about making sure people are treated fairly at work and have a positive experience in their roles.

What does Accredited level mean?

Accredited level is the second level of the Fair Employment Charter, sitting above the Aspiring level. It’s given to businesses that can show fair employment isn’t just something they talk about, but something they put into practice day to day. The focus is on how things actually work in the workplace, not just what’s written in policies.

What must businesses show to achieve Accredited level?

To reach Accredited level, businesses need to show how they apply the Charter’s principles across four main areas:

  • Healthy – making sure people are working in a safe environment and that wellbeing, both mental and physical, is taken seriously.
  • Fair – offering fair pay and working arrangements that support a healthy balance between work and life outside of work.
  • Inclusive – creating a workplace where people feel included, supported, and able to access training and development.
  • Just – giving people a voice at work and creating opportunities for young people to start and grow their careers.

Why is this important to Vextrix?

Looking after our people has always mattered to us at Vextrix. We want everyone to feel supported, valued, and able to grow with the business. Fair employment, an open culture, and opportunities to learn and develop aren’t just things we talk about, they’re part of how we work every day.

Achieving Accredited level through the Liverpool City Region Fair Employment Charter means a lot to us because it reflects what we genuinely believe in as a business. It shows us that what we’re doing for our people is working, and that we’re doing the right things as we continue to grow.

With our head office in Liverpool, and lots of members of our team, students, and delivery partners coming from the local area, this accreditation also feels close to home. It’s something we’re proud of and a reflection of how we try to do the right thing for our people and the Liverpool City Region.
